Stuck Between Iraq and a Hard Place
November 2003
For any of you who might be reading my columns over the past several years, you might recall how I have been chanting the mantra that Israel was the canary in the coal mine: It was only a matter of time before they came after us in the United States. Funny thing happened on the way to Baghdad. We in the United States discovered that we have more in common with The Jewish State than previously thought.
Now that our soldiers are being picked off like pigeons on a daily basis, we don't seem to be quite as “politically correct” -- amazingly, I'm reading the word “terrorists” when it comes to the savages who think pulling out tongues or cutting off hands is preferable behavior when it comes to their enemies. Not so long ago, the American public would react to the daily terrorist attacks with the attitude of "Ho-hum ... The Israelis must have done something to tick them off. Can't everybody just get along?"
Now we're discovering that no, we just can't get along. Israel's and America's enemies are the same, and they are barbarians. The Moslem culture is one of violence and hate, and they just don't "get it" when it comes to negotiation or logical treatment. Have you noticed the pictures of those raving masses shouting “jihad” in the evening news? Those are not faces of rational people. You cannot sit down and reason with a seventh-century mentality. These people live to die. Their cult is one of martyrdom.
I've been there. I covered wars in Beirut in June of 1982 and again in 1993. American soldiers in Iraq are fighting an enemy that doesn't understand the concept of fighting fair. They do, however, understand power. The same ones who cheered from the rooftops in Gaza during the Gulf War are the very same who dance on the graves (after first mutilating the bodies) of the Americans in Iraq.
I wonder if our State Department will call for restraint after this latest fiasco, where these same terrorists downed a helicopter and killed eighteen American soldiers. I found it amazing that The Los Angeles Times reported these monsters as “resistance fighters!”
Sadly, it's taken the American public a daily dose of what Israel experiences to realize just how evil and destructive the enemy is. Have you noticed that Israel's "surgical strike targeted killings" are not such bad words of late? I thought that it was going to take frequent bombings of Starbuck's and Bloomingdale's to get our attention. Maybe not.
I am, however, a big believer of "Do unto your enemies before they do unto you." The Jews cannot expect help from "the world." Only recently, the Malaysian Prime Minister spoke anti-Semitic remarks at length from the pulpit at the Islamic Summit, and he was given a standing ovation by fifty-seven world leaders. So let's not count on help from "the world" -- which has never come to the aid of the Jewish people before. It is up to Israel's leaders not to be "politically correct" but to do what they must.
It's amazing how quiet we in America have gotten about Israel's killing of Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders while minimizing collateral damage, and not letting that damage stop them. Do you think it has anything to do with Americans seeing the same vicious and barbaric behavior from the savages in Iraq who are conducting themselves like the "Palestinian" Arabs we once defended? Maybe now America's leaders won't be so quick to differentiate between Islamic terrorism, and Israel's right to defend herself.
Islam's craziness seems to know no bounds. Maybe I've been living in Southern California so long that I think in terms of karma. Paris pandered to the Arabs for their money years ago. Now the Parisians have virtually lost their identity, and I truly believe that Islamic fundamentalists will, within a few years, have the Parisian women wearing burqas as the latest compulsory style.
Now that car bombers are bombing the international Red Cross headquarters along with police stations across Baghdad, somehow the Red Cross and the rest of the world seem surprised: How could that be happening? After all, the French have spent the past few decades defending the "Palestinians" as poor downtrodden people under the occupation of the big, bad Israelis. And how could these homicide terrorists use ambulances as their latest form or weaponry? Incidentally, wasn't that the very same way the Israelis were attacked -- and the Red Cross rushed to dispute that the Arabs would never do such a thing?
T o my way of thinking, it's all karma. The naïve and anti-Semitic world rushes out to defend these soulless people because they don't think they are treated fairly. Yet it seems to have finally hit us that “Whoa, these people don't play by our rules.” Those being the rules of war that prohibit the targeting of civilians. In their evil minds, the helpless are the very ones that the Arabs seek. I find interesting the reaction of the Red Cross now, and wonder if they plan to continue their policy of defending terrorists.
As dense as we have been, it just might be sinking in that we are in a war which is far more than a war against "terrorism." We are fighting a war against ideology which the Arabs and Moslems have been nurturing for generations -- that being the belief that the core of their problems are poverty and illiteracy [caused by the USA, Israel, and all non-Moslems]. It can't be because they are losers who have been brainwashed since birth and nurtured on hate instead of acquiring education or job skills. They truly believe the fault lies with “the Great Satan of America and the Little Satan of Israel.” The Judeo -Christian basis of our society is an affront to their belief. They believe the only cure would be the destruction of our society, and all their problems would go away.
The nation of Islam has long since lost any semblance of reality, and is methodically steering the world into World War III.

Repercussions of Peres' Birthday
September 23, 2003
Funny thing happened on the way to meet a neighbor. I brought up the topic of a column that I had just read written by Arutz-7 's Opinion Editor, Nissan Ratzlav-Katz. He wrote about the truly appalling display of disregard for the citizens of Israel in the then-upcoming eightieth birthday party of Shimon Peres. While Israel is struggling to pay its bills and feed its citizens, Shimon Peres -- in yet another example of his self-serving attitude -- saw fit to give himself, at tax-payer expense, a glittering celebrity birthday party.
In this cast of thousands, the “A” list invitees ranged from Bill Clinton, former leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev, and -- my heavens! -- Barbara Streisand and Steven Spielberg. I think that somehow Peres even managed to get that "strong supporter" of the Jewish people, Kofi Annan, into the fold. Too bad Yasser Arafat wasn't there for another great photo-op hugging, as we've seen so often in the past. He was probably too busy sending out more of his suicide bombers.
It's not that I have anything against partying. I've partied with the best of them. But folks, I have to admit that I think that it's more than a little tacky when all these special people are living it up and the people in beleaguered Israel are getting the tab.
It's really not fair to Bibi Netanyahu, the finance minister, who's doing his best to keep spending slashed to a minimum on mundane things like single mothers, who are having their social welfare benefits cut. Nor is it fair when Hilton and Sheraton Hotels are cutting floors because tourism is down to a trickle. Nor when all the hospitals are filled with victims of Arab terrorism because of Peres' secretive and disastrous Oslo Accords.
Which reminds me: As a member of the Hollywood crowd, where have those same Jewish celebrities been when it came to speaking out about the double standard and violence their Jewish brothers in Israel have been forced to live under? I've seen Hollywood marches to save the whales, the trees, and the ferrets. But Jewish victims of Arab terrorism? Naw. Maybe these bleeding hearts were busy packing for their celebration with Shimon in a glittery and obsessive display of bad taste. Do you think?
About two years ago I was asked to help produce a fund-raiser for one of Israel's organizations, AKIM, which supports handicapped children. AKIM is in dire need of support, as are most of the charitable and government agencies in Israel. So I had the idea of doing a celebrity auction, and was lining up movie stars who had committed to work as MCs or to be “sold” the night of the event. The venue had been hired, bands auditioned, etc. We were well on our way. Then, abruptly, things were put on hold as the homicide bombings began in force and Jews in Israel were dying -- dying because of Shimon Peres and his pal, Yasser Arafat. Everyone just thought it in "bad taste" to continue, and all plans were stopped.
T hat was two years ago. Now, however, it seems that the situation is cause for celebration, and it's “birthday or bust” -- or, in this case, bomb. When it comes to self-serving behavior, nothing seems to stop the serial loser Shimon Peres. (Tell me, an ignorant American: Has he ever been elected, or have Mr. Peres' actions always been the fallout of "appointments?")
Anyway, back to my neighbor. When I showed her the spread in the Los Angeles Times about Israel's Peres celebration, along with the outrage of the citizens of Israel at it being held at tax-payer expense, she commented, “Hmmm, why is Israel asking American Jews to give donations, or even asking our government for loans, when they have the money for things like this?”

Eviction Papers
I'm not a political or military pundit, but some things are just so basic that I marvel that everyone doesn't see what's facing us. Sadly I watched the two-year anniversary of 9/11 as our entire country mourned. The talking heads on television spoke about the danger of Al-Qaeda and how they are still a sinister force lying in wait to wreak more havoc. They speak of terrorists who want to pay a return visit to our shores, and sometimes in the same breath -- in the interest of being politically correct -- the politician or newscaster will say how most of the Arab world is really made up of peaceful people and we're just being tormented by the "bad ones."
I disagree. I've realized for years that we in the United States, Israel, and the rest of the civilized world, have a common enemy. The Islamic culture is a violent and barbaric one whose one goal is to bring an end to all those things that we hold dear -- freedom being amongst them. It nauseates me when I hear morons who pass themselves off as leaders and speak before national audiences, gleefully reporting on how Israel -- being one-half of the "two-states-living-side-by-side" solution -- goes off into the sunset and lives happily ever after.
It is also the radical, liberal Jews who have let this terrorism occur because of their pushing Israel towards "hold back, give up, and negotiate" policies. Let them live with the results of that policy now.
There is no peace partner for us to negotiate with, and the same holds true ten-fold for Israel. Nobody in our State Department is going to do anything differently than they have in the past, which was to do nothing. Remember when the "Palestinian" (Arab) hoodlums invaded the Church of Nativity? And again when Joseph's Tomb was systematically destroyed by these same thugs? The State Department, and the rest of the world, remained mum.
Two American citizens -- a well-known and respected doctor, and his daughter, who was to be married the next day -- were brutality slaughtered last week. Imagine if this had happened in the United States? The outcry would have been ear-shattering. But since these victims and others were Jews in Israel at the time of their murders everyone just shrugs. If I were a betting person, I'd wager that the terrorist s who planned this atrocity will be let free -- unless Israel kills them first. The State Department web site refers to them as "groups opposed to Middle East negotiations."
T his isn't a war waged only against Israelis. It is a war against Americans as well: forty-eight Americans have been murdered by "Palestinian" (Arab) terrorists since 1993.
At the risk of repetition in my columns, I would like to say once again: the "Palestinians" (Arabs) have tunnel vision. They have one cause only, and that is the complete and utter destruction of The Jewish State of Israel. What part of destroy don't the self-haters get?
Many of my readers have written me asking how I would prevent such an occurrence. I know the enemy is illiterate and has little conception of reality. Yet they do, I believe, understand power. They also comprehend that the constant flow of checks to the families of the "martyred" homicide bombers is all the more reason to continue their policy of targeting innocent Israeli civilians and picking them off at will. That can and should be stopped immediately.
The government seems to be attempting to do that by stemming the flow of funds into the so-called "charities" which support these terrorist groups. But more has to be done. Far more. And this is the time. The United States and the rest of the world do not, and probably never will, accept as genuine the Arab vows to destroy The Jewish State. But in fact we all have a common enemy: Islamic terrorists have the same plans for the rest of the Western world.
I think the Jewish state finally realizes that they could negotiate and give until there is absolutely nothing left to give and their "Palestinian" (Arab) neighbors still wouldn't be happy. Their ultimate goal is to drive every last Jew into the sea. Knowing that, maybe now is the time to speak in a language that they understand. No more bombing of the leaders' houses. Instead, the entire neighborhood would be told that every "homicide" bombing will result in 10% of the land that Israel gave to the Arabs under the imbecilic Oslo Accords being taken back by Israel.
No more of the house-to-house warnings that result in the needless deaths of Israeli soldiers. This time flyers should be dropped, and they would be told that unless they revolt against and eliminate the evil and corrupt leadership who have been banking the millions sent to them by the world that they never received, all h*ll is going to break loose from Israel. They would have a week to decide to get rid of the terrorists, physically delivering them to Israel, or Israel is going to do it for them en masse. Notify them that they have already lost 10% of the land that has been turned over. Then send every F-16 in the Israeli Air Force loaded with bombs to take out every public facility -- radio, television, and newspaper offices; all electric and water pump stations; telephones. And all those tunnels that they like to build for arms-smuggling, and the warehouses they keep their arms in. You know: all those things that we in the United States did to win our war in Iraq. Remember that while we were destroying the infrastructure in Iraq, we also dropped food and blankets for the people. I'm sure the Israeli government would do no less.
Notify the Arabs that 10% will be cleared with or without their approval and/or negotiations, and no "cease fire" they arrange at the United Nations will change our minds. Tell them they will have to be out or lose the lives of their children (who they harvest to be martyrs anyway); they have twenty-two other Arab brother nations who would surely love to accommodate them. The choice will be theirs. They would have a week to eliminate Arafat and his harbored terrorists or they will get their wish and become dead martyrs. And let it be known that the physical bodies of these terrorists will be wrapped in pigskin and buried.
The repossession, they should be told, will occur in 10% increments every time Israeli civilians are targeted by homicide bombers. Then the same thing can be repeated with each occurrence. There will be violent protests from Israel's enemies around the world, but that is business as usual.
The time has come to have immediate talks with other world leaders and remind them that 86% of these so-called "Palestinians" (Arabs) originally resided in Jordan. The time is overdue to sit down with the king of Jordan and remind him of that fact, and offer to work with all those billions of dollars that have been sent by the EU and Arab nations and the United Nations to help the "Palestinians" (Arabs) -- money that never saw the light of day but went immediately into the coffers of Arafat and his thugs. Remind the king that this could be the dawning of a new day if a city for the "refugees" were to be built in Jordan from all these past wasted billions of dollars, as was done in Brasilia (which is now the capital of Brazil). It could be accomplished with Israeli technology, and would also put all those unemployed Arabs to work building this beautiful city.
The world should be reminded over and over of these facts. And that Israel has experienced 9/11 one time too many.

Ignorance Is Not Bliss
My momma used to tell me, "Education is the key to life. The Jewish position on abortion is that a fetus is considered a child when it finishes medical school." Ok, maybe that was a little drastic. However, when I refer to the Islamic culture as being a violent one I know from whence I speak. I believe the rise in Islamic fundamentalism to be the greatest menace that the modern world is facing. They have no reverence for life and strive to teach their children that killing others who don't believe as they do is a blessing.
The evil and devastating plans that these people have for the world as we know it are painfully obvious. Hate and hostility seep from their very pores. Of all the wars that are presently going on around the world, almost all of them are Moslem-based. They want us dead! They want Israel destroyed! They want the entire Western culture eradicated. Period! Their favorite thought is "Kill the Jews!" Everyone is so "politically correct" -- when is the world going to take time for a more critical look at the genocidal aspects of such behaviour?
As a member of the press, I am well aware of how the news reporting that you read can be manipulated to tilt the news into whatever direction the reporter may choose. It's simple. Yet I know that the double standard against Israel has been going on non-stop for so long that the public is pretty much aware of how it's done. The code words for terrorist are "militant," "activist," "freedom fighter," or, one of my favorites, "senior Hamas leader," as though he is boarding a bus with his bombs strapped around his waist and carrying a brief case.
Ah, but these are the code words for terrorist only when they are killing Jews. When they are murdering Australians in Bali, or UN workers (or US Marines) in Baghdad, or Jordanians in Amman, [or blowing up SUVs at car dealerships in California - Ed.] they are always called terrorists.
The Jewish community has written thousands and thousands of letters to media outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, CNN, BBC, NPR, New York Times, etc. Their mail boxes are full of complaining letters to the editor about the obvious bias and anti-Semitism when it comes to Israel. But they couldn't care less. They still continue to equate the situation ”situation" as a conflict between two rival gangs, like the Crips and Bloods being at war.
Do you think they don't know what they are doing when they write headlines such as this recent one in the LA Times: "Arafat Asks Militants to Restore Peace"? Or how Israel was somehow to blame for the destruction of the supposed truce when they responded to a recent bombing in Jerusalem which killed and maimed scores of children? Of course they do! Yet their biased reporting and anti-Semitic slants continue unabated.
And during all of this, the European Union -- especially France and Belgium -- are voting that they still don't believe Hamas to be anything but a humanitarian charity organization that gives help to the poor, deprived "Palestinians" [Arabs]. They somehow refuse to accept the fact that Hamas just might be promoting terrorism against Israel and needs to have their funding stopped. Wow! What a surprise!
We have gotten so politically correct in this country that Charles Manson could go on a rampage and the ACLU and human rights groups would probably come to his defense claiming a sad childhood. (Naw, probably not, because Manson is a white male.)
Frankly, folks, it frustrates me and makes me angry when I hear people tell me with one breath how caring and peace-loving these terrorists are, and then go into a tirade about "both people," as if the murderer and the victim are on the same moral plane.
I shake my head in disbelief each time I hear these do-gooders talk about how the "right of return" is necessary to continue the "peace process." Yet these same people/newspapers totally ignore the reality that there were two refugee movements in the area during the years surrounding the birth of Israel.
If the truth be known, there were in fact more Jews who fled the Arab countries than the other way around. The only difference is that the Arabs chose to leave their people in wretched refugee camps while the Jews absorbed theirs into Israel proper. Are the anti-Semites so blind that they cannot accept this reality? It's like the dirty little family secret that everyone knows about but ignores for the most part. The Arabs want the right of return? Fine. Can my cousin whose family fled Egypt during the Nasser regime go back and collect their confiscated real estate? Yeah, right.
I try and justify the lack of empathy that I find for the Jewish state with the lack of understanding that we in the United States have of the Middle Eastern mind. Maybe it's because we as a nation don't really understand the mentality -- or have the desire to deal with -- a seventh-century culture that still cuts off hands for theft and thinks the violation of little boys is fine because they aren't men yet. [See Dysfunctional Men following this article.] We also aren't used to relating to a culture of illiterate and evil people who will never understand that death and martyrdom aren't the way to go. Nor is it going to get them a country in any place other than the one they left -- Jordan.
I may sound like a broken record, but again: transfer ... transfer ... transfer. The only way to get rid of a cancer is to cut it out. Not negotiate it to death. Not try to find a way to live with it. For some reason the word transfer is taboo when it is used in relation to cutting the cancer out of Israel and moving the terrorists out of the country. Yet it is the solution.

| Dysfunctional Men
I've always said the Italian mothers and Jewish mothers came from the same cloth. Oh, there might be a few differences, like Catholic Shame and Jewish Guilt. But when you come down to it, they're pretty much the same.
But what about the Arab mothers? I wonder what kind of influence harvests a child for profit -- to kill himself and anyone else within a fifty yard radius in order to go to heaven to be a martyr. I've seen videos of those "camps" where three-year old babies are dressed in army fatigues and march around holding guns while mommy beams. Later, when they get to the fourth grade or so, they have school plays, and again mommy is fastening his "suicide belt" while clapping to show how wonderful he is in making the choice to be a “suicide bomber.” We know her baby boy is in training to be a murderer, but do you think his mother actually believes that he's going to make the whole family proud? Not to mention putting several thousand dollars in the family coffers.
What makes men into freaks like that? Why don't any other cultures strive to kill themselves in their efforts for a better life? As a mother, I've always believed that mommy is the guiding light for the kind of man her baby boy is going to turn out to be. Did you ever wonder why these people have such a violent culture? What makes them a people who seem to have no reverence for life? Why do they harbor what seems to be a bottomless hatred for everyone else?
I've traveled to many Islamic countries -- Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey to name a few. One of the things that struck me as odd was how women were rarely seen. In the evenings, women were never walking on the streets. The sidewalks, however, were filled with men -- men who seemed to have nothing to do but sit in coffee houses and play backgammon and smoke. Many times I would see men walking with their arms locked around each others' waists while walking, which struck me as kind of odd. Women were out of sight and out of touch. The male bonding, to me, looked like a trip to West Hollywood.
As a result of being socially segregated from women, many Arab men have obviously turned to homosexual behavior. (A word, incidentally, which is not even in the Arab language.) The reason behind this, I've been told, is because since there are no available women around they turn to other males, usually boys or effeminate men, to have sex. Amazingly this is seen as some sort of accepted social norm. In their twisted minds, they somehow rationalize this sick behavior as not emasculating the young boy because he is not yet a man.
No wonder they are totally confused -- because the Koran is against any homosexual relationship and gay Moslems remain fearful. Eventually, I think, this leads to anger. But beneath it all is the unnaturalness of it all. Repressing and suppressing and punishing natural emotions are good enough reason for making them sick and sadistic.
Then I found out that throughout the Islamic Middle East, they are taught at a very early age that it is vital to be opposed to pleasure, especially if it concerns anything sexual. No wonder they go to mosque five times a day. Since they are raised that it is forbidden to touch women, these guys aren't even supposed to look at them. Sex before marriage is punishable as a criminal offense. They don't have to depend on cold showers. All they have to remember is that at the very least, if caught, they receive a severe beating. Some even die as a result of the "crime" of premarital sex.
These guys are so warped that their culture teaches that women's sexuality and social independence could destroy what passes as their "male supremacy." So they believe that women must be controlled at all cost. The frustration that they walk around under is so deep-seated that it emerges as a violent form of misogyny.
No wonder they run around the streets screaming by the hundreds of thousands, and having regular "days of rage." You would too if you were raised believing that getting it on with another male is a manifestation of male power that somehow makes you hyper-masculine, and that you are supposed to achieve your highest pleasure through violent domination. Of course nobody talks about this issue, and so legitimizes it.
By not bringing their despicable behaviors into the open, it allows their victims, who are the young Arab boys, to become invisible. So is it any wonder that these dysfunctional men walk around the rest of their life trying to recover from sexual abuse and hating the world? Usually their way of recovery is by abusing even younger males, since women are hated in their world. The core of their Arab masculinity is centered into hurting others by violence and hate. Mommy isn't much help either, so she becomes just another woman who threatens what's left of their masculine order.
How many articles do you read about "honor killings” of women family members who might have done something to dishonor her family like see a man without their permission? Or how about female circumcision [also called by its more accurate name: genital mutilation. - Ed.] ?
I'm sorry about their society not seeing their sexual exploitation as being anything wrong. I even find it sad that they are traumatized by the lack of dignity that they are allowed and will spend the rest of their lives having days of rage. I would rather, however, see that rage be directed at those responsible, and not their neighbors: The Jewish State.
In the male Arab mind, their way of retaliation is to strike out as terrorists, to humiliate the foreign "enemy" in the way as they have been. This. of course, means the violence in as vicious as possible. Personally, I think it would be better for them to take more cold showers as a way of releasing their sexual energy.
Recently, the Los Angeles Times ran a column about a group called Al-Fatiha which helps Moslem gays. “Al-Fatiha, with chapters in Los Angeles and other big cities, gives them a place to come to terms with hostility toward homosexuals.” It seems that if they are caught in their hometowns being "gay" they also get killed. So, “some gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender Moslems are finding a safe haven in this group, which was founded in 1998 to support those who want to reconcile their sexual orientation with Islam.”
The more I've learned about the Arab culture, the more I appreciate the men here. No longer will I complain that all the men I meet in Los Angeles are gay, married, or dead ... sometimes all three! :-)

How Much Is Enough?
At what point do the beleaguered Israelis call a halt? When do they finally sit down and say, "I'm mad as hell ... and won't take it anymore?" They are dealing with monsters, soulless vermin who don't deserve negotiations. Israel is in a war and the only road they've been on is the road to h-ll ... not peace. When do the Israelis finally accept the fact that they are in a war and conduct themselves accordingly?
This is the First World War of the twenty-first century. Maybe when it spreads to Bloomingdale's or Starbucks and not just to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, or the Baghdad United Nations, it might make us here in the United States realize that we have the same enemy. The same Arabs who are bombing the embassies are the same vicious people who are boarding Israeli buses and murdering the children of Israel.
I'm tired of political correctness. Islam is an entity gone mad and, in my belief, a violent culture. If I'm wrong, let's see Islam protest the terrorism of their Arab brothers. Not surprisingly, virtually all of the current wars around the globe have their origin in Islamic fundamentalism.
What does it take to realize that these are violent people, most of whom have the IQ of eggplants, and who have been raised on hate, death and destruction? You cannot negotiate with them. There is no peace ... nor will there be! What part of the word "terrorists" don't people understand? Their goal in life is not to live peacefully with Israel or anyone else for that matter. The only thing on their agenda is the complete and utter destruction of the Jewish State of Israel -- as well as all Western civilization.
I'm outraged when my home paper, the Los Angeles Times, distorts the facts with a headline that says that Israel's retaliation shattered the truce. I'll bet your home paper said pretty much the same thing. I'm also outraged when immediately after the violent deaths and maiming of over a hundred Israelis on a bus, I hear the talking heads on television discussing how "this cannot detour the peace process." What peace?!
How long are the Israelis going to hold back? They have the means although, apparently, not the will. War is never a pleasant alternative.
For the life of me, I cannot understand how Israel continues to listen to George W. Bush about anything. He is a spoiled fraternity boy who has never seen war, nor does he know how to attain peace. Israel does not have the luxury to play the restraint game to satisfy payback promises. Let Bush stay on the golf course and play war games with other countries. His policies -- and before him, Clinton's -- are failures. I find the double standard that applies to Israel totally unacceptable. It has made Israel's situation far more precarious.
I am disgusted when I read about the Iraq bombing being reported as a horrific attack on peaceful people by "terrorists," yet these same murderers are reported in the press as being the usual "militants" and "activists" when it comes to Jewish victims in Israel. Not one paper reported the terrorists as for what they are: murderers!
Enough of standing like a deer in the headlights and acceding to the wishes of others while world opinion tries to force Israel to "show restraint." We in the United States wouldn't stand for a minute the thought of courting terrorists to negotiate a peaceful settlement.
These are murderers who have never hidden their agenda of a master plan which is the destruction of Israel. In fact, the Arabs want to get rid of all Western influence. Israel is in the midst of an area which the Arabs regard as their own preserve. Israel's existence is unacceptable to them. Always has been, always will be. The "vision" of two states living side-by-side exists only in the news media and State Department.
Despite years of promises from them, the "Palestinians" (Arabs) still glorify homicide bombers and name streets, summer camps, and schools after them. They may publicly deplore each individual bombing in the hopes of holding back Israeli retaliation, but their failure to renounce terrorism is unacceptable. They can't do that because their hatred is the fodder that feeds their very existence.
War is not going to cost the Israelis anything. They have nothing to give up. They are being picked off daily in terrorist and ambush attacks. Every "peace" road that Israel has been forced to travel has done nothing to ensure its greater security. Its citizens live in fear and the Arabs, like dogs, smell weakness. Even more, I believe, the Israelis fear public opinion and what will be said about them throughout the world. It doesn't matter. They will have their United Nations emergency meetings anyway. With or without Israel defending its people.
Peace? If there are people out there who still harbor thoughts that a negotiated peace is possible with neighbors possessed of an eighth-century mentality, then in my view that is equivalent to the morons who still look at a pack of cigarettes and believe the propaganda from the tobacco industry. Unless the world also accepts Israel as a Jewish state and stops equating retaliation of a people defending themselves from the terrorist acts of the "Palestinians" (Arabs), the situation will not change.
It's going to take more than the United States sending another memo or even sending hatchet man Colin Powell over to tell what's-his-name Abbas (otherwise known as etc. etc.) that he has to dismantle the terrorist organizations. He doesn't have the will. And he is a Holocaust denier and a terrorist also. It is up to Israel to disarm the "Palestinians" (Arabs) and destroy their infrastructure. Israel must not only retaliate with force, but also prevent the enemy from using any lull in hostilities to regroup and rearm.
When you have a cancer, you cut it out. They are a cancer and transfer is the answer!

Why Fence In The Tigers
Sometimes I allow myself to be lulled into that false sense of fantasy that so many of us like to live in. There was even a time when I listened to President Bush and felt a twinge of faith in his words. I even felt a little sorry for my columns about “ Like Father, Like Son ” -- after all, didn't he say we have a war on terrorism and a terrorist is a terrorist, etc? But that was before he spoke with a forked tongue, and it was going to be a case of “Do as I say, not as I do.”
I feel like Charlie Brown and the football that Lucy always withdrew just when he thought he was going to make the kick. Lately, though, George W. has been using the carrot and stick theory. On one side of his mouth he talks about what a friend we have in Jesus and Israel. Then, on the other side, he dispatches emissaries to go on television to tell us how disappointed and angry he is with the "Fence," which somehow is "an obstacle to peace." Wasn't that same the mantra his father used about the "settlements" and Yitzhak Shamir?
The whole situation has just gotten out of hand. Hamas, a violent terrorist group, is referred to as an organization whose havoc needs to be negotiated. They are never described as the monsters they are but as "fighters" or “militants" -- or "senior Hamas leaders" as though they were part of some yuppie organization just doing their job. As of late they seem to be the favored form of terrorists. Recently, the Bush administration assured Hamas that they wouldn't be targeted for elimination in the war against terrorism. Instead, when they're out there bombing Israeli civilians, Secretary of State Colin Powell goes on camera and says that "The United States will continue to seek dialogue to persuade Hamas and the other Palestinian insurgency [emphasis ours] groups to end their attacks on Israel.” Powell continued, “Such an approach has been part of the U.S.-led war against terrorism and efforts to reach peace between Israel and the Palestinians.” Puh-leeze! Do any of you see any trace of doublespeak here?
Aren't we here in America weakening Israel in the eyes of the Arabs? Each time Bush mouths the words of the State Department he weakens Israel and strengthens terrorism. If the situation were reversed, there is no way would we in America would accept this -- “making nice” to Hamas and other terrorist organizations. Yet almost without question Ariel Sharon and his incompetent and self-serving colleagues are doing just that.
Recently someone sent me the following about the fence: "The border security fence is comprised of many sections totaling scores of miles. Some sections are concrete, others sheet metal. The barrier is three layers deep in parts, fifteen feet high and surrounded by razor wire. The area around it is lit by spotlights, monitored by cameras, motion detectors, and magnetic sensors, and patrolled by armed guards with attack dogs. But enough about the USA border with Mexico. Let's talk about Israel.”
Why are our fences any better than Israel's? Well, there is one important difference: The fences in Israel are built to keep out vicious murderers who want to sneak into the country. That, folks, tells it all to me.
If it were up to me, we would recall the American soldiers from all the countries that don't want us -- starting with France and Germany. We'd re-deploy those troops along our border with Mexico to keep out the thousands of illegal immigrants who are only coming to the USA to get better jobs and to be on our welfare rolls. The people from Tijuana aren't jumping over the fence to kill us. So why should Israel be criticized for protecting its civilians? Because it is Jews who are being slaughtered?
Can anyone logically explain to me why Israel shouldn't be encouraged to do everything in its power to prevent "Palestinian" [Arab] homicide bombers from sneaking into Israel to do their damage? Is there a reason that the Bush administration can't accept the fact that terrorist infiltration comes from the West Bank? This is where the barrier is being erected. Gaza already has one in place, and that is the reason why terrorists haven't been coming in from that h-llhole to commit mass murder. Why is there a difference between Israel's terrorists and ours? The USA captures prisoners and nobody forces us to open the jails and let them out in the interest of "peace."
"Palestinian" [Arab] murderers aren't the kinds of neighbors with whom it is possible to have a mutual understanding. I compare them to a day at the zoo: I walk into the tiger and lion house and marvel at how nice they seem sitting in the sun and walking around, yet not for a minute do I wish to consider what it could be like without bars to separate me from them. Without that separation I know I'd probably never walk out of there alive. It's good to have a mutual understanding that they stay there and I'm on my side of the fence.
There is a sound reason why the fence is snaking along the Trans-Israel Highway: That's where the "Palestinian" [Arab] killers have been shooting at Israelis.
In the American-imposed road map to Auschwitz, is Israel really expected to free all the incarcerated terrorists to do what they might have missed doing the first time around? Incredibly, even though there is nothing in the road map about a fence or releasing prisoners, Israel is still made a target of criticism for the crime of defending its beleaguered citizens.
The road map clearly says what is supposed to be done. Yet for some reason the Bush administration continues to add addenda and to accommodate "Prime Minister" Mahmoud Abbas, also known as etc. etc. Hey, we're dealing with a man who can't even make up his mind what his name is. So is it any wonder that he keeps making new unjustifiable demands? As Arafat's wonder boy he feels he has the support of our government.
(Read the entire text of the roadmap. It's not a very lengthy document, and the responsibilities of all parties are clearly spelled out. There is no mention in this document of prisoner releases or fences.
As you read the document, try to find any responsibility placed on the Arabs -- and agreed to by them -- that they have actually fulfilled. Sadly, you won't find even one.)

Wanted: New Address!
Like most of you, I'm a pretty basic person. When my kids were little, I didn't let them play in places where there might be danger. "Bad kids" never made it into our realm of existence. I wish it were that easy for the Jewish State.
Israel is a beautiful country. Unfortunately, it's in a very bad neighborhood. Its leaders somehow have the mistaken impression that releasing its captured Arab-Palestinian "bad boys" into the street are going to solve the problem of co-existence. I'd rather see Israel counter with a demand that wanted terrorist leaders be turned over to the IDF. That might end these ludicrous prisoner release demands by the Bush government.
More important is the need for "transfer" or "emigration" of the enemy out of the Jewish nation. Because without that, I truly believe that the State of Israel is in dire straits.
When I was a kid growing up in Atlanta, if someone had a baby out of wedlock it was a family shame. That, folks, is what the discussion of "transfer" has become: Something to be whispered. Everyone automatically associates transfer with "forced eviction." Jews, by their very nature, are supportive of the "underdog." So the discussions of this topic are never brought into the mainstream. It's just too "politically incorrect" to talk about any solution that may prevent the demise of Israel.
I see transfer and emigration as the solution. To me, it's far better to transfer these people out of Israel completely. I'm talking about the thousands of vicious terrorists who have wreaked havoc on the Jewish people.
At the moment there is a tremendous influx of Arabs, including "Palestinians" from Israel, into the United States. Mosques are springing up at many corners. But we're not calling it "transfer" -- it's called "immigration." (They've immigrated so much into France that the country has totally lost its identity. I wouldn't be surprised to see the women in Paris wearing the latest styles of burkas soon.)
The only "human rights" the "Palestinians" want are for their fellow terrorists. The Arabs may kill each other on a regular basis, but the one thing they can agree upon at any given time is the demise of the Jewish State. After that, they'll tackle the "Great Satan." Israel is only the canary in the tunnel.
I fail to understand why memories are so short that people have forgotten that the Palestinian Arabs themselves never saw their people as a distinct "nation" apart from the Greater Arab Nation. It is only recently that they have very vocally pushed for their right of self-determination. And while they call for self determination, they also play up "collective punishments" from the Israelis -- who are no longer employing this method.
It confuses me why it's expected that the Jews in Israel be the source for Arab income and success. This is something that is beyond me. The logical thing, to me, is to not employ Arabs. American money should not continue to be provided to the Palestinian Arabs. And those inclined towards terrorism should be encouraged, however disguised, to move to George W. Bush's Crawford, Texas as the land of new opportunity. Their Arab brothers sure don't want them.
We know all too well how Arafat's generation has been carefully raised and nurtured for the past fifty years on hate, death, and destruction. These people are definitely not good neighbors. And after their track records in Lebanon and Jordan, no Arab country is going to bring these terrorists, with their bombs and rockets, into their own folds.
I don't give a diddly-squat about Oslos, Camp Davids, Madrids, Sharm-el-sheiks, interim agreements, Aqabas, "goodwill gestures," truces, or Road Maps. Israel is going to be forced to trust no one but itself. Despite the fine print of what is supposed to happen in these agreements, the Arabs have never accepted Israel's right to exist -- and I doubt that they ever will. Knowing that, I believe that Israel has to do what is in its own best interests as a sovereign country.
Israel doesn't need pats on the head from George Bush or whoever follows him. They need the will and the power to do what is necessary to keep their people safe.
I wonder how Bush, Rice, and Powell would react to the question of more liberal immigration laws in order to enable greater population diversity in the United States, and to correct past racism in our country? After all, Bush was pushing for the amnesty of three million Mexicans who had crossed the border in order to give him few more voters. Why not from a new Palestine? After all the aid he's been pushing their way, for sure he'd have built-in votes.
Of course we all know the reason why they shouldn't come to America. But how about transferring them to Jordan? After all, it is the true Arab "Palestine." They came from there and elsewhere in the Arab world, and they should return there.
The same way that Brasilia in Brazil was built as a solution for the extremely overcrowded conditions in Rio, Jordan is the ideal spot for their officially-acknowledged "Palestinian homeland." Jordan is a poor nation, and it can build an emerging city that would be a financial boon to both the Jordanians and their brother Palestinians. In fact, it could advance the entire region. The king of Jordan could be given allegiance for fifty years. They could be the beneficiaries of the billions upon billions of dollars that have been pouring into the corrupt government of Arafat and his cronies -- money which, incidentally, never reaches its intended recipients. They could take a chunk of that empty country and build a nation.
The now-diverted money could be used for American products and Israeli know-how. All of those unemployed Arabs could now find work. In fact, now that they would be building their nation and not doing construction work for the Israelis they might not feel the need to sabotage the job, as they did when I was living in Israel. At that time, they would put rotten eggs in the mortar, pee in the air-conditioning system, and generally wreak havoc on the construction job. So instead, Israel decided to import workers from Romania and Thailand as laborers.
Of course, the Arab nations would never agree to a plan that would succeed in taking away their use of the "Palestinians" as a cover for demonizing Israel. They would rather release their "bad boys" back on the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Would Bush Release His "Prisoners?"
For six years I chaired a Jewish discussion group at the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. During those years I learned a little about the penal system and the thousands of dollars it costs to keep those criminals in jail. Of course, that being a maximum-security prison, people may have complained about the high cost of incarceration -- but they sure didn't give a thought to letting those hardened criminals out. Whatever the savings, it just wasn't worth it.
In fact, it's never worth it to open the gates of hell and release murderers and rapists into the general population. If one or two manage to escape, all-points bulletins are issued, and the news media have a field day until the inmates are captured. We fought a war following 9/11, and a lot of our soldiers died. I don't care how many human rights organizations march, our government has no plans to open the doors of Guantanamo and let the terrorists out.
These are bad people and they belong in jail. On that we're all in agreement. I'm astounded, however, that there seems to be a growing contingent of morons out there who are pressuring Israel to release between three thousand and five thousand terrorists who have murdered Jews.
I find it mind-boggling that Israel has already released over 350 of these terrorists. One has even been honored upon his return to the Palestinian [Arab] Authority, gave his customary kisses to Arafat, and then was appointed to the post of an advisor. This man, incidentally, planned and carried out an attack against a school bus that was loaded with children. The parents of one family, where three of their children lost limbs as a result of a deadly explosion, are still in mourning. And Israel opens the jailhouse doors? Am I the only one who sees insanity in this?
What happens to the leaders of Israel once they get elected? I don't just mean Ariel Sharon; he possibly has been the biggest disappointment, but pretty much the past four -- Peres, Rabin, Netanyahu, and Barak -- have given carte blanche to the wishes of everyone but their constituents. Who would have believed that these men, either because of weakness or corruption, would have sold the citizens of Israel down the Road to Hell?
Has anyone noticed that Abbas was not only a terrorist in training with Arafat , but Abbas is the same man who financed the cold-blooded Munich Olympics massacre. He's still making out those checks to the "Palestinians" (Arabs), and vowing that the intifada must continue. What will he do with the released inmates? Hire them into his new police force as Arafat did in Oslo I? Will Peres send them guns again? Is this where you want your United States tax dollars going? And a billion more is waiting in the wings.
I am astounded that Sharon, of all people, is now catering to Mahmoud Abbas (also known as yadda yadda, yadda), who believes that both the Holocaust and the Jewish Temple are myths. Despite all this, Bush, Powell, and Rice see nothing wrong with the mass release of criminals -- none of whom have not suddenly been transformed into choir boys. And let's not forget the negotiations that Israel is obliged to engage in with terror organizations to get their executioners back on the streets. Disgusting.
Our President, as a former Governor of Texas, is not known for pardoning convicted murderers, or for releasing known convicted criminals. His state has had, and probably still does have, the largest mortality rate for criminals on Death Row. As Governor, Bush was not famous for complying with wishes from state authorities for the wholesale release of "prisoners," otherwise known as inmates. So why is he so accommodating when it comes to demands that Israel be victimized in this manner? Back when he was Governor, Bush wasn't a good bet to be offering "goodwill gestures" for any kind of Texas "peace process."
It should be obvious that once a nation releases on a grand scale its incarcerated murderers, and all those who are hell-bent on their destruction ... this is asking for trouble! It's outrageous that our country is demanding, and Israel is acceding to, letting out the most hardcore elements who have killed before and who are preconditioned to kill again. Israel might as well issue a press release informing the enemy that it's "open season" on the killing of Israelis.
Relying upon the so-called "hudna," or temporary cease-fire, for protection is like relying upon the discredited Oslo Accords for the same purpose. Why would any country in its right mind willingly agree to such a prisoner release? It is no answer to say that pressure was brought to bear on the Sharon government. That factor cannot be allowed to result in an appreciable diminution of Israeli security. The United States might be the world's only superpower, but, in the case of Israel, who can respect any country that so slavishly acts like it is a vassal state?
It's ironic how when WE pre-empt and destroy the enemy, as we recently did with Saddam's evil sons, it's great! It's morale boosting! George Bush even gets on television and gives a press conference praising the action, and calling them murderers and terrorists who will never be able to do that again. Terrific! I totally agree.
Yet had it been an Israeli operation, the evildoers would have been described as "activists" who Israel was attacking in violation of the sacred Road Map. I have a difficult time swallowing the double standard.
A recent poll conducted by Neil Newhouse Public Opinion Strategies found that 83% of Americans said Israel should not release any "Palestinian" (Arab) prisoners who have been involved in the killing of Israeli citizens. And just 15% said they have faith in the hudna , compared to the 78% who said the hudna isn't enough to secure peace. Oh yes, and a McLaughlin poll found that 71% of Americans oppose creating a Palestinian Arab state; only 13% favor it. Hardly anybody agreed to the wanton opening of jails, either.
In a way, I think that those who advocate the massive "Palestinian" (Arab) prisoner release have a marvelous idea. The more I think about it, opening up the prisons is looking pretty good to me. But with this catch: let's open the prisons AND the borders, and send them out to their twenty-two brother nations. A massive move-out might just be the solution -- and if they are going, let them go as far away as possible! When a people have only one thought for my people, and that thought is reflected in the word death, transfer is the only solution. Before getting any more politically incorrect, however, I think I'll tackle that topic in another column.

Arab Women and Farm Animals
I've always said that a sexy man is one that makes me feel sexy. That usually is one who is strong in his own identity.
I think that I've discovered the reason that Arab men treat their women like farm animals: They've never had a sense of self-worth and knowledge of their own identity.
The animals and women of that culture have one thing in common: both are used for breeding. In the case of the Islamic fundamentalist, their women are used as breeding stock for future terrorists.
Actually I think they treat their goats and camels better than their women: the animals are not forced to wear those hot and repressive burkas . I remember being in Egypt once, watching a man walking on the sidewalk with two of his wives following behind him. While the two women were dressed from head to toe in those heavy black tent-like cloaks, he was comfortable in a short sleeve shirt and slacks. I was thinking how stifling they must be in the heat, while this jerk was comfortable. And ugly; he wouldn't have been able to get a date for the prom in the States, but here he was a king.
I f their animals get hurt, guaranteed they will be taken to the local vet, or a lay expert-type healer. The best that women are able to receive is distant mystical questioning and no hands-on attention. They are required to have intermediaries to explain things to the doctor. Then the doctor replies back through the intermediary. How barbaric is that?
Simple things like fistula, which in modern societies are easily cured, are untreated in tremendous numbers. Females are rarely permitted to become doctors, and they aren't available to repair the leaky lesions resulting from unassisted childbirth. Their animals get more help, and afterward are treated better.
This is probably why they also cannot respect the Western government and our mentality. It is a contrast that is completely alien to them. Modern day man is selling apples and they want oranges.
I remember years ago, Rabbi Meir Kahane told me, “I don't want their love. I'll settle for respect.” His basic train of thought was no matter what the issue, the bottom line for the Arabs was that they understand power. And, along this same line of reasoning, they expect their women to live a life of subservience to exemplify their mate's "power" over them. Not to mention that women who are divorced are shunned by all. They have no say over anything in their lives.
The very word "Islam" means submission. That's a pretty good clue as to the attitude with which they begin life.
Non-Moslems are automatically supposed to "submit" to Moslems. So logically, to them, they truly believe that they have the final word. In their dysfunctional minds, it means that Moslem women submit to them in anything the men want. The Koran gives step-by-step instructions which somehow neglect to favor genders equality.
I remember when I was living in Israel that not a week went by when the Israeli police didn't find an Arab girl in some alley with her throat cut. They knew immediately that the killing had been done by her father or brothers in an "honour" avenging. Her crime? A clandestine meeting with a man not approved by her family.
G-d forbid a woman (or girl) contracted any disease as a result of a rape: she would probably be killed, because innocence for a wife/sister/daughter/mother does not exist. The result of any sexual activity is always the fault of the victim. So when the family avenges its honour, it's never their fault. Like I said, even the goats have it better. No one kills the goat in honour avenging.
I'm surprised that the Arab man, with his primitive and violent attitude toward women, even allows them to have eye slits in those heavy coverings. I have been told by experts in the field that even perceived innocent flirting quite often results in the death of the innocent accused.
AIDS and other STDs are always blamed on the wife, who most often is totally blameless. The men, like those in Africa, routinely fail to use condoms when they fornicate with boys, animals, prostitutes, or relatives who are not their wives. Then they bring the disease home, give it to their wives, and blame her for making them ill.
L-rd knows what makes "outside" women to allow themselves to marry into this mishigos . It is a given that within a short time they will suffer like all the rest.
Their Koran glorifies "little boys," and I remember when I traveled to many of those Moslem countries how I would see young boys walking and holding hands with older men.
To prevent their girl children from growing up to stray -- or even just to enjoy sex -- their answer is to "circumcise" (genitally mutilate) all little girls from aged four to six years old. This is done most times with no sterile needles, without anesthesia, and, as if that brutality isn't enough, they do not use pharmaceuticals to ease the devastating pain and discomfort following the "surgery" (which is usually done at home).
In the mentality of these evil men, women who are not circumcised in this cruel, vicious way are considered "unclean" and "unsuitable" as brides. These barbaric men can't allow their women to exist any other way -- because they are afraid that if this mutilation isn't done, then the possibility is great that their women might actually become enamored of sex and desire to have it with other men. Without a clitoris, the women would have no desire to cheat, and their husband has total control.
Like I said, the animals have it better. Their females don't have their genitalia mutilated as tots.
Because these pitiful Moslem men in Africa and the Middle East, in places like the Sudan and Mauritania and elsewhere, and even in the USA, are so insecure about maintaining control over their women that over 100 million of them are mutilated in this manner.
I wonder where the United Nations and Kofi Annan are when it comes to that! (Kofi incidentally, may be from African Guiana, but he's married to a blond Swede.)
With this mentality it's no wonder that when it comes to doing combat with real men, they are at a loss as to how to react. I remember I first saw this in June of 1982, when I was covering the war in Beirut as a journalist. Then, like now, they specialized in and understood terrorism. Negotiations and treating them collectively like partners only earns their contempt. It is one thing to terrorize the women in their house, and quite another to fight on a battlefield like real soldiers.
It's considered "politically incorrect" to bring up the fact that global Islam, with a world population of something like 1.2 billion people, are total losers when it comes to having productive lives. Israel, with a population of 5.6 million, produces a greater annual GNP (if oil revenues are not in the equation) than all the Arab countries combined.
In the rest of the world, we laugh and talk about having a "dog's life." I think to the majority of Arab women, given the lives that they lead, they would trade places in a heartbeat.
(To learn more about "honour killings," we highly recommend you read Honor Lost: Love and Death in Modern-Day Jordan by Norma Khouri.)

We're Our Worst Enemies
As many of you realize, I have a celebrity interview television show which has been running for the past twelve years and seen all over Southern California. (See Wow! It's Arlene Peck! ) Whenever possible, I try to slip in an Israel show and bring in guests to air topics such as “Victims of Arab Terrorism” or the “Myths of the Palestinians.”
Three years ago I tried to call the Consul General of Israel, Yuval Rotem, to go on as my guest, and was stonewalled at every opportunity. “He was too busy” ... he couldn't get back to me ... and of course he never did. Eventually I just gave up and never did that show with any high officials at the Israeli Consulate.
I was, however, angry enough to write a column called “The Other Side,” which was my rationale of why the press sometimes was so terrible in its dealings with Israel. If my overall treatment was any indication, Mr. Rotem apparently saw the column, and from that time on I have been persona non grata at the Israeli Consulate. My name was even taken off the invitation list to the Independence Day reception, an event to which I was regularly invited. Of course, being sent to Israel as a journalist to report on what I experienced, as I had been a few times previously by other administrations, was now totally out of the question.
I wonder if they think I'm too "politically incorrect." Remember, I'm the girl who was dropped from the Jewish Post & Opinion after almost thirty years when the new management came in and thought I was "being mean to the Arabs" and "not writing about how we should work to live together in peace and harmony." I failed to be touch-feely and "understanding of their plight."
I remember at one luncheon where I had been invited as a member of the press (I thought) to hear and report on Israel's President Katzav. In the course of a mid-forkful while eating my salad at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, however, I was escorted out and told there was no room for me. Nevertheless, as I was leaving, I was appalled to see several teachers and about fifteen children from the inner city who had been invited to have a "cultural experience." These were people who wouldn't have been able to find Israel on the map, had never been there, nor would they ever care to. As a press person, however, there was "no room" at the inn (Hilton) for me.
Recently I was told that there had been a change of guard and a new Consul General had arrived. So I called the Israel Consul to ask if I could have someone, higher up, who could go on my television show as a guest. I told the Press Attaché that I would run the show and keep repeating it at several studios around the Los Angeles area for possibly years. Within twenty minutes he called back and said, “I'm sorry, the Israeli Consulate has nobody that can go as a guest on your show.” That's it! Out of the entire Consulate office they couldn't find one official who could go on my show to speak up for Israel. Not one!
Eventually I ended up having as my guest singer Pat Boone (who is the official Christian ambassador for Israel) and Len Lesser, who was Uncle Leo on "Seinfeld." We even spoke about Israel. In any event, I don't know about you, but I frankly find it deplorable that egos get in the way of good being done for the "cause."
And as long as I'm on that topic, I also called several leaders of various Jewish organizations, who told me that they would have loved to have gone on television with me. Since by this time it was the following day, several already had appointments they couldn't change. Yet not one of them thought to say, "Gee, I can't go but the topic is something that needs to be discussed and I'll find you a great alternate guest." Of the ten calls that I made, only one responded encouragingly. This was Shimon Erems, who's been a guest several times before. This amazing man is the umbrella head of dozens of Jewish organizations, and he did give me a list of five people who he thought were good, committed speakers. The only one that I was able to reach told me, when he realized where it would be airing, “I'm sorry, I don't go on cable!”
It's no different if you have to deal on a personal basis with too many of our Jewish organizations. There is just no time to support Israel.
I remember an old joke, about a desert island with only two inhabitants who built three synagogues. The third was to be for the one that “nobody would go to!” Unfortunately, we, as a people, sometimes are far too diverse for our own good. People in Israel may wonder why the response from American Jews is sometimes less than favorable. Hey, if I'm representing the press and am getting a ''hard time" from Israel's representatives abroad, then maybe it's time for Israel to become aware of the problem and make appropriate changes -- whether it be in the representatives themselves or in their behavior.

What Am I Missing Here?
So, folks, let me see if I understand the world situation correctly, in as basic terms as possible: There is a "cease-fire" at the moment in place. Now what exactly does that mean? The Arabs will promise to be good -- not all of them, mind you, but most of the terrorist organizations. It's cute how the Los Angeles Times and New York Times and other papers never say that these are "terrorists," and make Arab “senior leadership” sound like corporate yuppies. Is it all smoke and mirrors? Every time "Palestinian" Prime Minister Abbas threatens to relinquish some of his power, the United States rushes in to pour more money into the "peace process" -- which surely ends up as guns and not butter.
I'm confused.
I recently spoke with Father Keith Roderick, who is the umbrella head of about sixty-five Christian organizations. He just returned from Lebanon, and was appalled at how the terrorists were using that country as an "al Queda" base. He told me about rapes and terror against Christians in Bethlehem, and the desecration of Christian holy sites. Where is terrorist-favoring Tracy Wilkinson of the LA Times on this story? Christian land in Bethlehem is systematically being taken over by Moslems to build their mosques. Imagine the coverage from Ms. Wilkinson and others of her persuasion when Israel tears down olive groves that have been used for cover by terrorist bomb throwers.
What am I missing here?
Back to Israeli concessions. For three months most of these upstanding Arab citizens of Gaza and neighboring villages are going to be “good” and not attach bombs around their children. In return, all the Israelis have to do is open the jails and let out all of those misplaced, poor, downtrodden "Palestinians" (Arabs) who have been misjudged and incarcerated for doing nothing more serious than killing innocent civilians in buses, cribs, and pizza parlors. Hey, they were just carrying out requests of their religious leaders!
Now this I understand: Even someone well-known for presenting the left-wing viewpoint, legal commentator Moshe Negbi, is on record as saying that Israel should not release even those terrorists whose attacks did NOT result in deaths. He said, "Terror attacks against civilians constitute war crimes." Well golly, I know that and you know that. But I wonder what the duo of Bush and Powell have to say about that? Funny, I used to write about the infamous duo of Baker and Bush. It's shades of his daddy, "Do as I say, not as I do." Let him give Texas back to Mexico since we're the occupying force there.
Oh, and is Sharon jumping high enough to please Bush and Powell? They have ordered Sharon, who seems to be acting like the Bush administration's puppet, to see to it that Israel tears down a multitude of "illegal" settlements and allow millions in funds to be transferred to the "Palestinian" (Arab) Authority for “policing.”
I wonder: Will [former Prime Minister Shimon] Peres stand at the gate and pass out the new arms as he did before? Did Arafat and Abbas think up this wonderful new plan of transferring more millions and more guns to these terrorists who are now once again policemen and politicians?
Naturally these residents of Gaza must rebuild all those homes that those nasty Israeli soldiers ripped down while chasing Arab “militants.” And didn't the Bush administration's National Security Adviser, Condoleezza Rice, mention something about a fence that was erected by Israel? She wants it torn down. Name me another time in military history when a defense line is torn down because of demands from the enemy under the guise of those demands coming from our government?
I'm not even sure it's Bush calling the shots any more . Could it be that Hamas is demanding the jails be opened to let the murdering terrorists loose to do what they do best, bombing and killing?
With all the demands heaped upon Israel, where are the demands to collect those thousands of guns that Peres delivered to them? These terror organizations have had fifty years to plot Israel's disappearance from the Middle East, and to teach their children from vicious anti-Israel textbooks that it is patriotic to "kill the Zionist entity." Now with the vaunted Road Map, will things be different? I'm not holding my breath. This is the brotherhood that can't even bring themselves to accept Israel's right to exist.
The United States' attitude towards Israel seems to be: When in doubt, just appease. Israel tried for the past fifty years to bring the "Palestinian" Arabs into the mainstream. Israel built them universities and hospitals, and put in sewer and clean water service. They made them a large part of the work force so they could feed their twelve children who were being raised to become "suicide" bombers.
Now the Bush administration is calling the shots and threatening to cut off aid, oil, whatever it takes, to break the spine of Israel and to build their terrorist state in and around the Jewish one. Bush demands? Powell orders? Excuse me! When did Israel become the 51st state? He's not doing such a terrific job here. Worry about your own problems before causing more somewhere else!
I seriously doubt if there is anyone in the Bush administration that isn't aware of the Greater European Union plan made to Blair to support a "Palestinian" state in place of Israel. Not to mention the continued goodwill that Europe wants to have with the Arab countries. This, despite the fact that we all know that the Saudis and the rest of these good friends have been teaching Islamic insurrection against America. Hey, it's been good for business, at least in the oil industry.
It is going to be interesting, if nothing else, now that our American soldiers are being picked off every day by the same people who are being delivered into the hands of these same Islamists. They want a state? Fine. It's called Jordan (which the Balfour Declaration at one time decreed was to be a part of a Jewish national home).
And now is the time to think of winning this war and repeating the mantra: Transfer! But not of Jews from the Biblical Land of Israel.

What Causes Jews to Turn Their Backs on Other Jews?
Recently the Los Angeles Jewish Journal ran a story titled “Why Aren't Jews Giving to Jews?” and it got me to thinking. For a long time, I had been pondering this new problem of what I call the "whys." Why don't the Jews of today have that connection that I remember from the days of my “bubie”? We had a ”pushkie” in the kitchen and always remembered to send charity back to our Jewish brothers and sisters in Europe, Israel, Russia, wherever it was needed.
Jewish women worked tirelessly in organizations such as Hadassah, ORT, Technion, etc., to see that no Jewish family had to suffer for lack of education, food, clothing, or housing. It was an invisible cord, but nevertheless it was there. Today? Try and get someone to devote some time to a Jewish cause. Of course, times have changed and women who would have never worked a couple of decades ago are now in the job market because of necessity. When they get home at night, they are just plain tired. They don't feel like planning "bake sales" or organizational fashion shows.
Okay. That's one of the reasons the women aren't out there like they used to be . But what about the men? What makes men like Eli Broad, who headed the list of influential public-spirited Jewish citizens of Los Angeles, donate only $2 million earmarked specifically for Jewish causes -- of the $350 million that was donated to "good philanthropies?" Or how about Saban, one of the major power brokers in our area, who recently donated $100 million to more "good causes," specifying most of it for “generic” philanthropy?
Unfortunately, the major part of that money did not go to Hadassah Hospital; it went to Children's Hospital here. Something like $40 million went to that particular cause and, although a worthy one, I'll bet that his non-Jewish wife who works there had something to do with it.
I'm not faulting people who do mitzvahs for their fellow man. I just wish more of it went to the Jewish fellow man. I always thought that one of the biggest bonds that we, as Jews, had was the tie that binds us to watching out for each other.
I grew up in Atlanta, and learned at an early age that when African-Americans became successful, they were outta there. They quickly joined the mainstream and didn't look back. The Jews of that city and, I'll wager, around the world were different. If a destitute Jewish family would arrive in Atlanta, they were taken care of. They were given jobs, settled in an apartment, taken to a Hadassah store and given credits for clothes. There were even organizations that planned their "working wardrobes."
I don't know what the problem is. Truly, I wonder if it's because so many today, and especially in the Hollywood crowd, have intermarried at such a prolific rate that they just don't know they're Jewish any more. I wonder if most of them even knew they were Jewish in the first place.
My neighbor, one-half of one of these examples of commingling mishigos , brags to me how they have a "Chanukah bush" and make latkes for their kid. It is a city of "trophy wives," and these women are into Save the Whales, Hug your Tree, or Walk for AIDS. Victims of Arab terrorism and other Jewish causes aren't even at the bottom of the list.
I wasn't surprised to learn that while Jews make up 2.5 per cent of the USA population, they are almost 25 per cent of all the givers of the general population. While it's nice to donate to universities, hospitals, and museums, somehow they think it's “too Jewish” to specify Jewish universities, hospitals, and museums. Those groups, folks, only get 6 per cent of the big donations.
Maybe the fundraisers of my generation had an easier time of it. They were selling post-Holocaust causes, Israel Bonds, support for specifically designated Jewish towns, education, and things that they were familiar with, such as building a forest in Israel. The assimilated generation of today has absolutely no idea of the meaning of “Jewishness.” Even the elderly today are hesitant to leave their money to their favorite organizations because they fear it won't end up where they want.
I remember thirty years ago when I served on a city-wide board for B'nai B'rith, and came home disgusted because the entire evening was spent planning for the senior citizens at the Jewish home for the aged to make baby layettes for the charity cases from the welfare hospital. And they sent groups of black children to the Jewish summer camp the week before, and the week it closed, for a paid-for-by-the-Federation holiday.
I just wondered when the black churches, or Southern Baptists who filled that hospital, would have meetings to help Jewish youth out in any way. In other words, I believed then, as I do now, that charity begins at home . My momma used to tell me that those who take the time to worry about everybody else's business won't have time to take care of their own.

Ashamed to be the "Press"
A long, long time ago, when I began writing for the newspapers, I felt I was a little “special” identifying myself as a member of the "Press". It granted me entry into some great parties and I was able to meet some very influential people.
Since then I'm afraid that I've become jaded and more than a little disappointed with the outright lies that come across the pages of my morning paper:
The Los Angeles Times has been the particular source of my disgust. However, I suppose the same can also be said about the New York Times and a hundred more papers across the country.
It just amazes me how, in this day and time, there are still reporters who strive to glorify the ”life" of a terrorist. And to minimize the suffering of its victims.
A New York Times journalist/reporter casually and without any feeling described the recent murder of grocery owner Avner Mordechai and the vicious killing of seven-year-old Noam Liebowitz as “low level violence.”
If that weren't deplorable enough, shortly thereafter the LA Times featured a story with a heading about the “fatherless” daughter of the terrorist Abdullah Kawasme. However, instead of speaking about the scores of Jewish children who are now fatherless because of his being the mastermind in many homicide bombings, the article focused away from the real victims of this terrorist. This was accomplished by having a photo of Kawasme's little daughter holding a photo of her dead father. Below was the caption explaining how she is now fatherless because of an Israeli "targeted assassination."
How disgusting that the American press, or any branch of the media for that matter, portrays bloodthirsty Palestinian "homicide” bombers as ordinary family men who sadly leave behind loving families.
Where are pictures of fatherless Israeli children? These terrorists, who are prepared to take their own lives in order to kill as many in their wake as possible, are monsters!
There is no "cycle of violence." Yet the Los Angeles Times manages to use that phrase on a regular basis. They don't even name the victims. The Times just reports them as “low level violence.”
Hey, instead of the fatherless children, I have an idea. Why not show a few dozen pages filled with the pictures of the Jewish children who have been crippled, maimed and disfigured for life following vicious Arab terrorism?
I am not very good at being politically correct. I tend to tell it like I see it. When I comment that the Arabs in general, and the Arab “Palestinians” in particular, are a violent, unrelenting people, I'm called racist. Yet out of the billion or so Muslims around the world, where are there words of self-condemnation?
I'm not reading that in my NY Times or LA Times.
What I found ironic about the one-sided coverage regarding Israel and their alleged mistreatment of "poor downtrodden Arabs" was how on the same front page there was a story about eight British soldiers who were ambushed and slain by the Iraqis.
I wonder: Will the LA Times, NY Times, and the rest of the biased press refer to those who are in our hair-trigger sites as "activists," “militants,” or “organizational leaders"?
S omeone ought to tell the NY and LA Times that Hamas is actually listed as a real honest-to-G-d terror organization by our very own government. And while they're at it, they should inform the Bush administration of this fact!
When Israel targeted Hamas co-founder Abdul Azazs Rantisi for his part in planning and ordering hundreds of murderous attacks upon Israeli citizens, George Bush "the son" called the action "troubling." Oh, really? Would he answer in the same way if we were able to do the same to Saddam Hussein or Osama bin Laden?
Actually, we've bombed the daylights out of many civilian areas for such purposes, but always had the excuse that “civilian deaths are unavoidable because the Iraqi military was breaking the rules of the Geneva Convention by deploying in civilian areas.” Unless, of course, it is Jews that are being killed -- in which case a different standard applies. The same goes for his philosophy of “There is no negotiating with terrorists.”
Frankly, I've never understood how the "Palestinians" and their fellow-Arabs, who want nothing less than to wipe Israel off the map, get a free pass from the world and, indeed, the press. When the Los Angeles Times writes about the fate of a Hamas leader, they make him sound like it was a corporate killing. He is usually referred to as a “senior Hamas militant leader," “official,” or “spokesman." PUH-leeze.
Condoleezza Rice, the Bush administration National Security Advisor, has said that Hamas should be outlawed. No, darling ... it is jaywalking that should be outlawed. As should bias in the media. Hamas needs to be destroyed .

Things are Not Always What they Seem
What you see is not always what you get. Recently I was at a dinner party at the magnificent home of producer Robert Evans. The home and the guests were more than impressive. Every guest was a "heavy hitter." The crowd was eclectic and I mingled with the likes of astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Tony Danza, Suzanne Pleshette, Christie Brinkley, and Tracy Bingham from Baywatch fame.
But the one I most enjoyed speaking with was the former Ambassador to Morocco, Marc Ginsberg. Nice Jewish man, yes? I thought so anyway, until a few nights ago when I turned on FOX and listened to him speak about the almost 300,000 “settlers” and what an obstacle to peace they are! Mr. Ginsberg elaborated how “they” have to move out, and I was thinking, “Move out, and then what? Turn over their lovely homes to the rampaging Arabs who would rape and pilfer everything and everyone in their wake?"
What makes someone like him be so misinformed and vocal? He and the others of his ilk fill the airwaves speaking of how expelling Arabs is considered Racism. However, when it comes to expelling Jews, that's OK. So don't be surprised down the line when the anti-Semites who want to get rid of their Jews will repeat the mantra "We are only demanding from you Jews what you have demanded for other Jews."
So don't get too comfortable in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, The Valley, Malibu, Greenwich, Boston, Miami, Rome, London, etc. They are throwing away the inalienable right of Jews to live anywhere in the world if they give up that right in their own land.
Later I watched while a man named Stanley Cohen, who is the lawyer representing the terror group Hamas, speak in Nazi terms about “the Jews.” He used semantics to separate himself from Hamas and stated that he only "represented the head of Hamas.” Is there a difference?
Frankly, all I can do is shake my head in amazement when I hear people like Marc Ginsberg and others speak about the need for Israel to appease. Appeasing is what Israel seems to be doing all along. What's even more surprising to me is how many of these people are speaking out the loudest against their own people. Are they just plain stupid or just self-haters? Woody Allen, who is now out promoting tourism in France to better fund Hamas, is not stupid. I just find him greedy and evil. Now Adam Shapiro and his Arab wife who ran to comfort Arafat in Ramallah I'll put in that category.
I don't think that most of these moronic Leftist Jews are evil, as they are so caught up in the Stockholm Syndrome. They walk around "feeling the pain" of the enemy and all the touchy-feely aspects of their concept of helping their fellow man and forget who the enemy is. Eventually they themselves become the enemy by their self-hatred. Somehow this gives their irrelevant lives meaning.
I think probably that there is a special place in hell for people like the Stanley Cohens of the world who try to perpetuate the lies. Hey, compared to the world leaders and organizations who have demonized Israel to be an “aggressor” and “occupier,” dignitaries like Mr. Ginsberg are small potatoes. But individuals like this are very troublesome. There is a small but very visible and vocal group of them which my favorite author and dear friend lovingly refers to as "Jews for Arafat." They do great damage because their every word is picked up by the anti-Semites who wait to quote them.
Another one that comes to mind is Richard Dreyfuss. As a journalist, I once attended a “memorial” for the Arabs who were killed by Baruch Goldstein, which Dreyfuss sponsored at UCLA. I was appalled! I was almost escorted out when I asked for a “moment of silence" for the victims of Arab terrorism instead of the “poor downtrodden Arabs.” So-called "Rabbi” Lerner is in the same category. And I wonder what kind of congregation pays a rabbi who has been so violently anti-Jewish.
Then there are the Ed Asners and Theodore Bikels of the world who I actually believe think that they are ”friends of Israel" but manage to do harm anyway by their leftist stance. Is it possible that they recently lent their names to an ad in the Los Angeles Times for a group that tried to raise money to pay the settlers to move out of their homes so the Arabs could move in?
Amazingly, these articulate and educated men never seem to notice how the Arab world dances and sings at Israel's pain. Their solution is always that Israel is to blame and Israel must keep on making concession after concession.
Frankly, I have a better idea. Just before World War I, there were a number of terrorist attacks on the United States forces in the Philippines by -- you guessed it -- Moslem extremists. So General Pershing captured fifty terrorists and had them tied to posts execution-style. He then had his men bring in two pigs and slaughtered them in front of the now-horrified terrorists.
The soldiers then soaked their bullets in the pigs' blood, and proceeded to execute 49 of the terrorists by firing squad. The soldiers then dug a big hole, dumped in the terrorists' bodies, and covered them in pig blood, entrails, etc.
They let the fiftieth man go. For the next forty-two years, there was not a single Moslem extremist attack anywhere in the world. To them, eating or touching a pig, its meat, its blood, etc., is to be instantly barred from paradise and those 72 virgins, and doomed to Hell.
It's where they belong. Along with the self-haters.

The Gloves Are Off!
No more Mr. Nice Guy! How long until the leaders of Israel have the fortitude to stand up and show the courage that is necessary to defend their own citizens? It's gotten to where I dread turning on the television because I know I'll probably view carnage of a bus in Jerusalem, a pizza parlor in Tel Aviv, or maybe a shooting at a Bar Mitzvah somewhere in the "settlements."
Who is running Israel? George Bush? Frankly, I don't see him doing so well with this country. The economy is in a shambles, the health care non-existent, and the ecology is in a total mess. This is the man who is calling the shots? Why is Israel expected to "obey orders" from the White House by anyone? Least of all by the Israeli Knesset.
I stare at Ari Fleischer and the national newscasters after each and every "suicide" bombing and I truly want to scream. That these monsters are considered "militants" when it comes to Israeli deaths and "terrorists" when they ambush and shoot United States soldiers deeply offends me. They are "terrorists" and the bombings are "homicide". I can't bear to listen to the semantics any longer.
The problem is complex but the fact that terrorists cannot be negotiated with is a simple one! For some reason, Bush understands that when he's hell-bent on destroying the "evildoers," we bombed the beejeebers out of anything that moved in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our planes went over there and bombed whole neighborhoods in the hopes that they were in one of their caves or tunnels where they hide out like rats. What did we do? We clapped! And everyone praised George Bush for his fight against the terrorists!
The issue is not a question of whether the Arabs should have a 23rd state to call their own. It is a clash between the 21st century -- exemplified in the democratic values of The Jewish State -- and the barbaric, medieval, violent, intolerant, and autocratic values (or lack thereof) of the Islamic societies.
The revolutionary vision that Colin Powell and Bush have for transforming the disputed territories couldn't be more different. Why is it so impossible for the world to understand that the situation that has prevailed for the past two years is intolerable? The time for talking is over! Over! There has been a war for two years with Arafat calling the shots. I don't care what the world is going to say! I know that the time of talking is past. Israel has to destroy the enemy! And if that means going to war, so be it. They are in a war now and nobody is supporting Israel.
For some reason our government makes a distinction between the "military wing" and the "political wing" of Hamas. They are one and the same and the cousins of the Arabs who are now shooting and ambushing American soldiers in Iraq. Are United States personnel supposed to pull them out from behind the rock they are hiding and tell them that "We have to negotiate?" The only answer is a military seek and destroy operation. Israel has the means and the justification for doing so.
There is no comparison between the bloodthirsty terrorists and the victims fighting for their lives! It is reprehensible that the Arab bombings are referred to as "retaliation." The "Palestinians" are determined to destroy every man, woman, and child in their wake. It is NOT a cycle of violence! The terrorists go over and kill Jews -- and those who have been targeted respond by defending themselves.
I totally disagree with our government when it repeats the mantra that this cannot be solved militarily and that Israel will have to sit down with its enemies and "work things out." Interestingly enough, when we went to Afghanistan and Iraq we set the correct example. Yet, as usual, when it comes to Israel, the rulebook in the war on terrorism is closed. How is it possible that when Israel defends itself from the Hamas terrorist mastermind, the entire world comes down on The Jewish State in condemnation? The condemnation is bad enough, but the world's silence in the face of manifest terrorism has put these world leaders in the same boat as the terrorists.
This cannot be allowed to continue. At least in a war, the soldiers, although unavoidably wreaking havoc while engaged in hostilities, can at least make an effort to avoid civilian casualties. Israel is already in a war, and the situation cannot continue where these monsters are allowed to continue to pick off two, or ten, or fifty Jews at will, among them children, pregnant women, and the aged.
So far the terrorists have had free reign and, I believe, are encouraged by the American administration, for reasons that are either anti-Semitic or which stem from ignorance. Powell has been billed as a born-again Christian with a love of Israel. Well folks, Israel can no longer stand such "love." [Editor's note: George Bush is a "born-again" Methodist who believes in "replacement theology;" i.e., that Jews once were the Chosen People but have been replaced by the new chosen people: Christians. As such, he has no love for Jews either.]
Our leaders are prepared to casually discard entire cities of Jews who have been living in Judea and Samaria for the past forty years where they have built viable cities. These "settlements" are not sticks in the ground. There are over a quarter of a million Israelis living there and they have every moral and legal right to be there. What should they do? Move out of their lovely homes so their Arab neighbors can take over? No! I don't think so! It is time that transfer was recognized as the only sensible solution. But it can't be transfer of the Jews now residing in their Biblical homeland.
I wonder what would happen if Israel cut off the water supply of these hotbeds of Arab terrorism? How long would it be before they were heading to the border without a shot being fired? This might be considered an act of war but this war was imposed upon Israel ages ago.
It is the time to think, and seriously, of defeating Israel's "evildoers" and moving them out of Israel and the territories into any homelands of their brethren who will take them. They have the "right of return" -- to Jordan and of their other twenty- two Arab countries! There is no peace process and there cannot be one with an enemy possessed of barbaric values and mentality. There is no peace process where there is no partner.

RESIGN!
We've all heard the expression "Never Again." I think those of us who grew up hearing it actually believed it. But lately I've been getting that "déjà-vu all over again" feeling that the so-called "Road Map" to peace, that "Master Plan" to exterminate a new generation of Jews, is unfolding right before my eyes! Only this time it's The Jewish State that's being "railroaded " to Auschwitz.
How many of us are still reeling after hearing Sharon use the "O" word -- occupation -- when referring to those brave Jewish towns and cities called Judea-Samaria and Gaza? Is the "Bulldozer" now "bulldozing" his own principles?
Worse than that is how the world is sitting on the sideline while Bush and his Arab buddies ride around in that damn golf cart again, hugging and posing for photo-ops. Is this how it happened sixty years ago when the Americans, the British, the French, and all the other "good Christians" shook their heads and sighed a collective tsk-tsk?
I have a difficult time understanding how a civilized world would ever allow a monster like Hitler to not only rise to power but also to galvanize an entire nation to action. Tell me: Is the rise of Arab "Nazism" any different?
Let me see if I understand this correctly: After three years of non-stop terror attacks and killing sprees, the Arabs are going to be rewarded with their very own state. And all they have to do is promise not to do it as much anymore. They really, really want to be good and they won't direct their "militant" bombings at anyone but the godless Jewish soldiers and "settlers."
I believe that to the Arabs, "settlements" means all of Israel.
Jordan is the real Arab "Palestine" and transfer isn't the forbidden word it used to be. L-rd knows, when it comes to transferring the quarter million Jews out of Judea-Samaria, Gaza, and half of Jerusalem, the world never has a problem with it.
According to their textbooks and their leader Arafat, they believe "Arabs" came from "Judea," that Jerusalem has nothing to do with Jewish history, and that Jesus was a "Palestinian." Why don't people "get it?" The Arabs should be the ones to be transferred out of the Jewish homeland where they, the Arabs, are the "occupiers."
Maybe I'm too basic, but in all these happy, touchy-feely meetings between President Bush and his Arab consortium, has anyone asked the Israelis what THEY might want? Obviously nobody has ever told President Bush that for over fifty years Israel has been a sovereign state. I don't remember Israel being voted as the fifty-first state with Bush as the boss.
Does the outside world REALLY know what's best for Israel? Shouldn't something as important as that be enough to call a vote by Israel's general population? Democracy? Yeah, right. No wonder the "Palestinians" accepted this "road map" to Auschwitz unequivocally while the ink was still damp.
When the Arabs say "settlements" or "occupation" they really mean ISRAEL ... all of it! These were the same words used before 1967 when Israel liberated today's "occupied" territories. There were no Jewish settlements or "occupation" by Israel in the territories in question, but that did not prevent Arab attempts to eradicate the Jewish state.
So why don't the Bush Administration and others "get it?" Maybe they do. The same way they "got it" during the last Holocaust: "Thank G-d it's the Jews, and not us!"
How many times do we have to say "Never again?"
Since Ariel Sharon has apparently turned into Ehud Barak, offering to give the heart and soul of his country away to keep the good will of George Bush, is it possible to have the man committed? What lunacy to issue 25,000 work permits to "Palestinians" so more terrorists can blow up more civilians! And if that weren't enough, the freeing of a couple hundred killers from prison, removing the IDF from hotbed towns, and unfreezing assets so the Arabs can buy more bombs are all unforgivable!
Force him to resign? Can Israel have a recall? Sharon must be removed from office. He cannot be allowed to govern any longer. His entire cabinet has allowed themselves to become emasculated. However, who is there to lead?
This monstrosity of a peace deal that was hatched in Aqaba is going to grow until Shimon Peres, Yossi Beilin, and the other leftist "Osloids" get their leftist wish of destroying The Jewish State. The result will be that Arabs can live ANYWHERE, including within The Jewish State, but Jews cannot live in the new state of "Palestine."
Didn't George Bush say a "democratic Palestinian State?" It's obvious that the Arab plan is to "ethnically cleanse" the land of all Jews. Or perhaps an apartheid-like action whereby Jews are racially denied equal rights. Moslems can have four wives, ten children with each one. They are populating at an alarming rate all over the world. They de-Christianize and de-Judaize everything in their wake -- and somehow it's acceptable.
I had Father Keith Roderick on my television show not so long ago, with author Avi Davis, and we discussed how at every chance the Moslems are tearing down churches and building Mosques in their place. Synagogues they just blow up. Can you imagine the riots and the waves of destruction they would leave had the "demands" been reversed?
The United States, for whatever reason, puts tremendous pressure on the leaders of Israel to accede to their demands or they won't support the Jewish State. What price is Israel paying now for that support? It is the sacrifice of their country! Accepting a similar "peace" deal as was crammed down their throats ten years ago which led ... nowhere. This is another "road map" to peace -- a.k.a. Trojan horse that will bury another 1,300 Israelis.
What would move the Israelis to consider Oslo II?
Hamas gives press conferences at which they continue calling for a March to Jerusalem. And folks, they mean it.
They negotiate ... and it somehow reminds me of the nice girl who said she wasn't a hooker until she was offered a lot of money for her service. Then the only point of contention was the price. For Mahmoud Abbas, the only point of contention with the terror organizations is how much or how little of the terror tactics they should continue to achieve the result they want. At this point in time, they are still complaining it's not enough.
Someone should tell our President that if after his "love-fest" with the Arabs and their peace mission, this road-trap is going to be terrible for America's interest. It makes a mockery out of Bush's pledge to "hunt down the evil-doers" and "destroy them." Instead he's creating a sovereign safe haven for every terrorist in the world. He'd put into place the most dangerous home base for every evil-doer in the world to come and plan their destruction of the rest of the Western world. It will be nothing more than a terrorist training ground just as it is today. But now they'll have a National Charter.
The only message Bush is sending is that "Terrorism pays."
There will be weekly bombings in Starbuck's and America's shopping centers because the Arabs will have gained in their terrorism tactic. Once again we will breed contempt for America's power and our will to use it.
I'm no political maven. But I cannot help but wonder why Israel, with her military might, allows herself to be bogged down playing "Oslo Peace talks."
We in the USA didn't follow this example after 9/11 in dealing with terrorists. We handled a difficult situation in Afghanistan and Iraq by bombing the hell out them and gaining control.
I used to think that war would be a terrible thing. But Israel has the means and plenty of reason to use their resources. Do the Israeli Defense Forces have one more Six-Day War left in them? I hope so.

Israel? A Banana Republic?
It makes me crazy when I read in the biased news reporting about how our President is “annoyed” and "disappointed" with Israel's non-compliance of his destructive" Road Map." It is fairly obvious that Colin Powell, Ms. Rice, and most of all, George Bush, are applying enormous pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Sharon to “fall in line” with their “visions” of a "Palestinian" [Arab] State. I want to sit down and write something fresh and new. Not the same old standard about this "Road to Hell" warning. How about something a bit more specific? Like the “Road to Auschwitz?"
I was too young to be aware of what was happening prior to the advent of Nazi Germany in the early 1930s while Hitler was making ominous inroads in the country. Growing up in Georgia, not too much touched us anyway. But now I finally understand the feeling of utter helplessness and despair, seeing events unfolding and wondering if I'm the only one feeling betrayed. Israel is in mortal danger and where are the national protests? The Jewish State is being operated on by vicious, lying, deceitful, terrorist thugs, with George Bush and friends administering the anesthetic.
The world, and especially all Jews, cannot stand by silently as thirty-eight nations did at a French resort in the summer of 1938. At that Evian Conference, delegates voiced their concern and pity for German Jews trying to find countries willing to take them in. There was plenty of “pity” but very few “takers!” And now the “Road Map” ... Shouldn't something as important as uprooting a quarter million Jews be voted on in Israel's parliament, the Knesset? And even seeking the approval of the Israeli electorate in a referendum?
Have we lost our minds? We sit here complacent while those in Washington tell us how they only want “peace in the Middle East.” Great. Are we to understand from their logic that the best way to fight terror is to build a terrorist state alongside of Israel? President Bush, much like his daddy, is now clamoring for Sharon to show good faith by once again opening the jailhouse gates and release just a few (like a hundred or two) of the terrorists who were responsible for previous acts of terror. Wow! What a message that sends: Kill Israelis, and if you should get caught, the most you'll have to serve is just a little bit of Roadmap-years time because by then someone will come up with a good reason why Israel should make yet another concession.
When did Israel become a banana republic? I cannot watch while Sharon succumbs to intense pressure to appease the Arab nations while the Jewish State is set up for destruction. What you see is not always what you get. How is it that Israel voted in Likud but got Meretz and Peace Now? Where has the Arik Sharon we once knew and who the Israelis voted for gone? How did he suddenly become George Bush's water boy? And why is Israel being set up as a sacrificial lamb for the appeasement of Arab “sensibilities?”
The 1993 Oslo Peace Accords were a disaster! We know that the murderers won't stop until they exterminate every Jew in what they consider to be “occupied" territory. Yet, knowing that this is Oslo II revisited, they're still falling for that same old “Trojan Horse.” What next? It's no different than trying to pass off that nice piece of swamp land in Florida.
Sharon has created an even bigger crisis. He has opened a Pandora's Box by not only approving the concept of a “Palestinian" state, but by also referring to the Jewish presence in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza and East Jerusalem as “an occupation.” By doing so, he gave credibility to the mistaken belief that the Arab “Palestinians” are indeed historically different and entitled to a national homeland! Better he should have stated that the only “occupiers” were the Arabs. The Jewish nation has a deed to the land that goes back thousands of years.
Call me old fashioned, call me radical, but I think these so-called “Jewish settlers” are the brave, modern-day pioneers of Israel. But once again, as it was during the reign of Daddy Bush, they are now an “obstacle to peace?” These so-called Jewish “settlements” take up less than 2% of the entire “West Bank” Yeah, right, the Arabs need that land!

Now there is talk about abandoning these “obstacles to peace.” Well, I was a journalist at Camp David, and was in El Arish when Israel and Egypt signed their peace treaty which had Israel relinquish the entire Sinai Desert Peninsula. Yamit was a tiny Israeli “settlement” in the very northwest corner of the Sinai Desert. I vividly remember the sight of Israeli soldiers (under the direct orders of then-General Ariel Sharon!) forcibly removing fellow Jews from rooftops. Will the Israeli Army, many of whose families live in Judea and Samaria, now be ordered to haul off a quarter million Jews from today's “occupied” territories?
Look what happened when Israel tried to move out twenty-odd Arab terrorists from the Church of the Nativity. Not one of their Arab brothers would take them and they had to be bribed by the IDF with safe passage to either Gaza or some five-star Mediterranean resort before they waved their white flags! I wonder: What will those proud Jews in Judea-Samaria be offered? The opportunity to turn over the beautiful modern towns and cities, shopping malls, restaurants, schools, universities, electric grids, water treatment plants, hospitals, and four-lane highways to those who send forth homicide bombers to murder them?
If it weren't so serious and dangerous, it would be almost comical. CNN and FOX have panel “discussions” or Town Meetings comprised of people who have no idea what they are talking about and who probably couldn't even find the Middle East on a map. Bush and his aides give press conferences about their plans to “get everybody talking.” Yeah, right. What further "gestures of goodwill" can be expected of an emasculated Sharon and his bickering Cabinet! This week, more prisoner releases? Next month, what next? Didn't we have such scenes during the first Oslo when the committed and dangerous optimist, Shimon Peres, was arming to the teeth his new best friends, a beaming Yassar Arafat and his 40,000 man "police force?"
Nobody seems to care what the scenery down the road looks like. Or that the scenery is on the edge of a cliff. All we hear from George Bush is his "vision" of a Palestinian state. Aren't there supposed to be a few things that go along with that? Like democratization, tolerance, and an end to terrorism? If pressure is going to play a pivotal role in the peace process, then it's long past due to start pressuring these savage Arab terrorists to end their killing sprees and to back it up with action on the ground -- and not just words from loose lips on Meet the Press.
And why is Israel so submissive? The threat of an American embargo on the Jewish state! That's why! Those in Washington might want to remember that it's election time again. I don't think that our President and his advisers would want to explain at their various “photo-ops” why unreasonable suicidal demands were placed upon the Jewish state. Or why they turned proud little DEMOCRATIC Israel into a Third World banana republic.
The last I heard, Israel was still a sovereign state. And, if I'm not mistaken, sovereign states have the right and the obligation to protect their own citizenry. So let the “Quartet” continue to be "disappointed" and' "miffed" by the conduct of the Jewish State as they stare down a second Holocaust! Israel's American "friends" and the media need to back off a bit, while Israel needs to show some b***s -- now, what's that word?

A Rose is a Rose
Gertrude Stein once said, “A rose is a rose is a rose.” I suppose it meant semantics don't mean diddly-squat. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, sure as shooting, it's a duck.
My leftist friends, the few I have left, consider me a "radical." I consider my way of thinking logical. If the "road map" to the sea is going to build a terrorist state around and within the Jewish state in its Biblical heartland, it's a danger, it's a danger, and it's a danger. I even believe a roach is a roach is a roach. So if describing as vermin those who strive for the demise of the Jews and who rush to bomb Yeshiva boys and teenagers out for a pizza makes me a radical, so be it.
I just wonder if any of those television commentators or "experts" who are touting the wonderful road to peace and the "map" that's going to have a "happily ever after" ending in the Middle East have ever traveled to the countryside? Or possibly seen the terrain from which they are moving the Jews? It might be nice if they've traveled to any of the hospitals to see what these "peaceful neighbors" plan for the Jews in their neighborhood.
So as basic as it sounds, I just figure that there is nothing wrong in telling the Arabs that if Jews can't live in their countries, then why should their brothers live in Israel? That kind of talking makes me a "radical." I just see the inconsistency of their cry “You can't live among us, but we can live amongst you.” Why doesn't the world see the audacity of that position? I had an aunt who came from Egypt. Can she go back and claim her father's property? Yeah …right!
And if the "road map" is going to dismantle settlements -- whose residents I believe to be the true pioneers of Israel -- and leave buffer areas vulnerable, that too is dangerous. G-d help us when the millions of "displaced" Arabs from all over the world start pouring into the tiny country to "reclaim" their land. Does anyone actually believe that Hamas and Hezbollah or any other of those terrorist entities which are waiting in line to be rewarded for their bloodbaths against the Jewish nation actually believe that they will stop once the “Jews leave the occupied territories?” To them, the entire country is occupied and they won't be content until they have every last inch of Israel.
This is Oslo revisited! Haven't our decision-makers learned that yet? Obviously not! You know, come to think of it, neither did George Bush's father. He was a one-term president because he went against Israel. This "Palestinian" state will leave coastal Israel virtually defenseless and vulnerable to terrorist activity and cause the country to be easily overrun. Oh, and I forgot: the current President Bush gave his assurances that everything would be “okay” and he would see that Israel was protected. Excuse me? Wasn't that the same thing his daddy promised when the scuds were pouring down on Israel from Iraq? And we all know how that turned out.
Excuse me if I don't hold a lot of confidence in what our country promises. The rest of the world for the most part just doesn't understand. Nor do they really care. Long after our President has retired to spend his oil millions in Texas and Sharon is pushing up daises, the damage will have been done.
I remember when my daughter was just a little girl and she broke her front tooth in a swimming accident. Oh, the neighbors and a couple of my friends poo-pooed the incident, then went home and made their dinner. But I was the mother and I knew what problems that would cost her in future years. It damn near broke my heart. And that was a tooth! The bottom line is that we all better get involved. Because if Israel falls, so do the Jewish people. All those wonderful, caring Europeans and self-hating leftists will maybe just shed a crocodile tear or two and go merrily on their way.
Those that are kowtowing to the rest of the world and worrying about the poor plight of the "Palestinians" had better revise their thinking. Or the next trip they might make to the “Holy Land” will be called “Greater Palestine.” I just spoke with a neighbor who's from Lebanon. He's a Christian and told me that he wishes George Bush would get on the case of Syria. He reminded me that there is no more Lebanon. For many years it's been Greater Syria and there are almost seven million Lebanese living outside their country since Syria took it over. Tell me Mr. Bush, what about his right of return?
Hey, I've never been very good with maps. In fact, I wasn't in school the day they did the north-south thing. I managed to get there on the left-right day. So I can totally understand that there are people who just don't understand maps. When you have no idea what you're doing, it's easy to get off course. But it's a big difference between getting lost on the highway and what constitutes the future of Israel. One slip now and the country could be lost.
In fact, I keep reading from the news reports -- and we all know how truthful (?) they are -- that Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice keep saying that at this point in time they "just don't want to get bogged down with details and semantics." So, keeping that in mind, maybe you guys in Washington haven't noticed that the pattern of destroying Israel is continuing. Take that word you like to bandy about: concessions. Have you noticed, just a little bit, that every time you force Israel into another concession, the Arabs respond with increased violence and more homicide bombings? Do you think that maybe because the other side does not allow itself to get “bogged down with details and semantics” that it just might be because it is a little counter-productive to their own interests?
Forget the rose. A murderer is a murderer is a murderer. Take the benevolent, sometimes-leader of the "Palestinian" people. Now we all know that Arafat's first name is Yasser. But, hasn't he been called Yassir and sometimes even Yessir? Who knows, one day it might even be “No sir.” Bottom line is no matter what you call him, or how you spell it, the man is the father of terrorism. Bin Laden and Hussein studied at his feet. He's a thug, a Hitler, and a killer. So, what's in a name?
Does peace for Israel really mean pieces of Israel being chopped up like salami to satisfy ... whom? Gee, maybe peace means piece. What's that old saying? “If the terrorists put down their weapons, there will be no more violence. If the Israelis put down their weapons, there will be no Israel.”
